Tenants | Before you go on holiday

While you are not under any legal obligation, there are a few things you can do before you go on holiday to keep your rental and personal items safe.

> Contact your Property Manager. This is a sensible thing to do in case their is an emergency, and so that they can notify their Insurance Company if it's going to be for any length of time.

> If you have a good relationship with Neighbours it's helpful to also let them know so that they can keep any eye on the property.

> Lock windows and doors, report anything fault to your Property Manager before you go away

> Test your smoke alarms to make sure they are working properly

> Hide or secure any valuable. A safe is a good investment!

> Turn off any switches and utilities, and turn on security lights or alarms (if any)

> If you are away for an extended amount of time it would be a good idea to get someone to empty your mailbox etc so it's not obvious that no-one is home.
